Be aware of what is sold as Snake-Oil.
READ THE LABEL!
Patients with a variety of diseases have the right to choose alternative remedies as well as conventional treatments. Everyone should be able to make informed decisions about treating their own ailments. Like I said before -READ THE LABEL and discuss medical matters with a medical practioner. Discussions with their doctors can often include alternative remedies as well as conventional therapies. Unfortunately, coverage of alternative remedies can be very misleading. There is a temptation to use bogus Snake-Oil remedies in place of constructive treatments, We attempt to give you information as to what works, and what doesn't, what can help you and what can harm you.
- Alternative Medicines have always shared the stage with modern medicine. We may learn from the wisdom of the ancients who practiced medicine as witchdoctors, medicine men and women medical practitioners who were referred to as Wiccans or healers. The Christian religion condemned them and referred to them as "witches".
- For the past 25 years new discoveries using natures plants and flowers have made significant contributions to modern medicine. For centuries treatment of illnesses has come from nature. For example, the chemotherapy drug Taxol is created due to a compound found in the Yew Leaf, Aspirin from Willow Tree Bark, Digoxin from the Flower, Digitalis Lanata and Morphine from the Opium Flower.
- 70 % of all new drugs* introduced in the United carry within them the wisdom of our forefathers.
Many of our pharmaceutical drugs introduced in the United States in the past 25 years have been derived from natural plants. Many to have been used from ancient times - reports a study published in the March 23 issue of the Journal of Natural Products.
